FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Senior VP of Product
STATUS: Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY
At EXOKĒRYX, we are committed to creating cutting-edge platforms and tests that leverage extracellular vesicles, the body’s concentrated, information-dense cellular communication system. To continue to meet the needs of our customers, we are growing the Field Service team. This Field Service Technician position is a key hands-on role and an important representative of our company in front of our customers. The role will require a focus on ensuring customer satisfaction and instrument uptime, and the individual will be a balanced, personable individual with strong technical problem solving and effective communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing complex life science equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
- Providing on-site technical support and training to customers, ensuring they are comfortable and proficient with the equipment.
- Managing service logs, documentation, and parts inventory efficiently.
- Feedback customer input and product observations to Exokeryx Commercial, Engineering and Supply Chain / Manufacturing organizations.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, delivering exceptional service and support.
- Adhering to all quality, safety, and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: A minimum of an Associates Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent industry relevant or military training.
- Experience: Previous experience installing, servicing, and repairing technical equipment; ideally, 1-3 years in a customer-facing role within the life sciences or medical device industry.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and patiently to various audiences.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems; ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation; proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently within North America (US and Canada) (e.g., up to 50% overnight travel).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance.
- Other: Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with specific laboratory equipment or instruments relevant to our product lines.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software or networking concepts.
- Certifications or specialized training in relevant technologies.
